(Accidently) deleted Audio Control. All sound's GONE. Help!

Postby Gutter_Flower on Wed Jan 11, 2006 10:17 pm

The other day I was cleaning up unused programs in "Conrol Panel". The result...I lost my sound. The little icon for regulating volume on the bottom strip is gone, when I try to play audio files, this happens:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."
How do I get the sound back?????

P.S
I have eMachines
T4010
Windows XP

I ended up taking it to Best Buy to get fixed. The problem was the sound card (part of the hardware). So I think you'll need professional help either way, cause you'll have to replace the card.
