Cardport 2x cd-rom parallel port interface

I am the not so proud owner of a Cardport 2x cd-rom that connects to the computer through the parallel port of my compaq LTE 5380 (OUCH! Those are both as old as the hills!). I got the cd-rom at a rummage sale and didn't get any drivers for it. All that I can find on the web are drivers for the PCMCIA version of that cd-rom. Any and all help will be appreciated.
