The file has been downloaded (sp27957) and installed and windows update spack 3 installed also. However till now, when an USB is inserted, we are asked to install it. When we try to do so, we get the following message: "USB Mass Storage Device was not validated when doing the test allowing to obtain the windows logo and verifying the compatibility with Windows XP. Microsoft highly recommends that you stop the installation and contact the supplier to obtain the software which was validated when doing the test to obtain the windows logo"

Who can assist please in solving this issue.

that just means that micosoft have not tested the driver.

just click continue anyway.
the speed in which new drivers come out its impossible for these companies to keep submitting them to micosoft as they have to pay for it to be validated.

its just another reason why microsoft are so rich for pointless testing of a driver that might only be around for a matter of months before the next update.
