vaio potable hard disk powered by toshiba driver

i neeed a driver for a vaio portable hard disk .its a black colored sleek piece with 40 gb storage space.im using windows xp sp2 stiill does not detect the usb hard disk. it is normally detected on other pcs.and there is no problem with my usb port since all other usb devices r easily detected. so i think i need a driver

XP doesn't require a driver as you've seen when using it on other PC's, if it's not coming up then the problem is somewhere else

If you right click on My Computer, select Manage, click on Disk Management is it listed there?
