Computer doesn't recognise hard drive!

This is probably the easiest way to answer!

This is what comes up:

Each of the *Hard Disk listings gives a sub-menu as follows:
Autotype Fixed Disk [PRESS ENTER] (This does nothing)
Type:
Cylinders:
Heads:
Sectors/Track:
Write Precomp:
Transfer Mode: [Standard]
LBA Transition: [Disabled]
PIO Mode: [Standard]
32 Bit I/O [Enabled]

Description at this point reads "Item specific help attempts to automatically detect the drive-type for drives that comply with ANSI specifications".

LBA Transition should be enabled, not sure if that will help though

Hi Taz.
You are indeed right: It makes no difference whatsoever!!! Just to be on the safe side, I treated myself to a new test meter as my old one packed up recently. There is an actual +5 DCV and +12 DCV present.
