cd rom not working

I formated my old compaq presario 2290 from win95 to win 98se and now the cd rom won't run and says there is a driver missing??? I cannot find anything on the web regarding "drivers" for this models cd rom.

Where does it say there's a driver missing?

In Device Manager what does it say under Hard Disk Controllers?
